46 swimmers represented Manitoba at the 2010 Speedo Western Canadian Championships. This all time high of qualifiers swam for a total of 18 individual medals and three relay medals.
The Highlights were a first place finish for the Manta Women's team, and a team place of 2nd overall. The Manitoba Marlins placed 23rd overall, 22 spots up from last year.
The Manitoba contingent of swimmers was led by Chantal Vanlandeghem of Manta with 7 gold/2 silver and 1 Canadian Record performance in 15-17 Girls 100 back . Chantal was awarded Female Swimmer of the Meet and Female Swim of the Meet as well.
Other Medallists were
Jessica Plant with one gold, one silver and 2 bronze, Bryan Wray with 3 silver and Emily Doucette with 2 silver. The 15 & over Manta girls hit the relay (with 2 gold and 1 bronze) & 3 provincial records.
Cody Evans of Manitoba Marlins scored a Provincial record (12) in the 100 free. Braking 60 sec for the first time. That Record previously held by Chantal VanLandeghem
