2014 SC Man/Sask Championships

Manitoba has done it again!  We have survived another Man/Sask Provincial Championships.  Thank you to all volunteers and officials who made this a very successful swim meet.  Without their help and support we could not have pulled this off.

A special thank you to Sharra Hinton, Ken Barnes, Travis Wog & Peter Marrier in making sure the pool setup and electronics were all ready for when swimmers arrived.  Their jobs started well before the swimmers arrived at 8 AM with only a one hour break for lunch.  Also a huge thanks to Chris Harbeck who worked behind the scenes during Sunday finals doing the take down on East pool and helping with takedown of Main pool.  Without his generous help we would have been at the pool a lot longer.

Thank you to our hospitality chairs, Suzanne Glover (UMAN), who sacrificed many of her volunteers to be on deck officials on Thursday night; Corinne Pommer and Joann Jocelyn (MM) and Marlin swimmers who helped out on their day off of school; Wayne Bennett (MANTA) and Candice Bell & Sherrill Irvine (Seals) who don't have kids swimming at the meet but feed us like kings!  All these hospitality chairs work both Juniors and Man/Sask in less than ideal conditions.  A huge thanks!

A big congratulations to our new certified meet managers, Peter Marrier and Susan Wog.  They did a fantastic job as meet managers.  We hope to see them more often in this role!

Ken Barnes did a fabulous job as entries and results chair.  Most days he did not get a chance to go home in between sessions.

Lastly, Swim Manitoba cannot thank Shelley Rossum enough for her tireless work in the office.  She worked all four days without having the ability to go home in between sessions.  Swimming is very lucky to have her!

Swim Manitoba appreciates the support, time and effort of all volunteers & officials.
