UPDATE October 30:

Att: Club Presidents, Head Coaches,

As a result of the new restrictions announced by Manitoba Health Agency this afternoon,  the following changes come into effect Monday, November 2nd:

  • Winnipeg Region  - Code Red- all public pools and sport facilities will be closed. Therefore all club pool training will be suspended until facilities re-open. While this restriction does not take effect until Monday, Swim Natation Manitoba requests all clubs in the Winnipeg region to suspend pool training effective immediately.

  • The safety and health of our members is our top priority and it is important we make every effort to reduce the potential transmission of the virus.

  • All other regions move to Code Orange- please refer to your Back to Play plan for protocols and pool number limitations

The restrictions are in place for a minimum of two weeks.

We know this is not good news. Let’s hope it is only for the short term and we can all get back to the pool soon.

Online Training/Insurance

The insurer has confirmed that your Virtual Training Application has been approved.

They are also pointing out the following clarifications:

The purpose of the temporary virtual/online training endorsement is because the sport activities are suspended for the time being and the PSOs are providing fitness exercises program (flexibility, strength & conditioning) to the athletes for them to maintain fit and shape.

Regular home trainings provided/recommended by the coaches (without online supervising) which they have been doing in the past is already included under the Sport MB policy.

Publicly-accessible broadcast tools such Facebook Live, YouTube, etc. and pre-recorded videos are not acceptable methods of delivering online training.  Permitted delivery tools must include the use of controlled, multi-screen video conferencing programs such as Skype or Zoom (ZOOMUS).
