Summer Swim Information

What is the Summer Swim Program?

Swim-Natation Manitoba Summer Swim Program focuses on developing competitive swimmers, coaches and officials in rural Manitoba. Participation is open to all rural swimmers. Summer swimmers get the opportunity to participate in the Summer Grand Prix every year. Winter swimmers are eligible to join Summer Swim programs as practice only swimmers, space permitting and can compete as exhibition only swimmers within the Summer Swim Program.

The Summer Grand Prix is a six-week summer swim league running from the beginning of July to mid August. The league consists of summer teams from around the province who compete at scheduled Grand Prix style meets. Swimmers competing in these swim meets earn points based on their placing and at the end of the season Summer Grand Prix Champions are named in each age category. Awards are also given to the top ranking team.

The Summer Swim Program is a stepping stone to participation in the Manitoba Summer Games. Held every four years, the Manitoba Summer Games are the province's largest multi-sport event. The next Manitoba Summer games will be hosted in Dauphin in 2024.

Find a Team Near You!

The Summer Swim Program currently has 8 teams operating across rural Manitoba and every year our numbers grow. Being part of a summer swim team is very rewarding. It helps builds confidence, promote a healthy lifestyle and most of all, it teaches kids the life long sport of swimming. Whether its swimming at the local lake or racing against your peers at a swim meet, the summer swim program is a great way to build life long swimming skills.

For information regarding joining a summer swim team contact either your club contact or the Swim Manitoba office directly for more information.
